Material Advantage: How Advanced Composites Shape the Modern Battlefield

As modern warfare evolves towards increased speed, autonomy, and precision, the role of advanced composite materials has become more critical than ever. This webinar explores how high-performance carbon fibers and advanced composite materials enable breakthrough capabilities across air, land, sea, and space- based domains. Key topics include light-weighting for extended range and endurance, thermal performance, producibility, connectivity, and affordability.Drawing on recent applications in unmanned systems and higher operating temperature platforms, the discussion highlights how material selection and architecture directly influence mission effectiveness and survivability. Attendees will gain insight into emerging material technologies, manufacturing considerations, and qualification opportunities with defense applications. The session concludes with a forward-looking perspective on how composites will shape future battlefield dynamics, including increased autonomy, increased rate, and distributed systems all within rapid decision-making environments.AgendaOverview of the evolving battlefield and how advanced composite materials act as key enablersAdvancing affordable mass manufacturing for defense platforms through high-rate composite solutionsDatabase materials for accelerated, cost-effective part qualificationAdvanced material solutions engineered for structural performance, high-temperature environments, and radar transparency (low dielectric applications)

High-Performance, Non-PFAS Options For Release & Protective Films

Despite the versatility of fluoropolymers in demanding, high-performance applications under harsh environments, many of them have been classified as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and are facing increasing regulatory scrutiny. However, polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) is outside all current regulatory definitions of PFAS due to the lack of full fluorination and the presence of hydrogen on each carbon in the backbone of the polymer. This positions PVF as a sustainable alternative to traditional fluoropolymers while retaining outstanding weatherability, durability and chemical resistance. In this talk, DuPont will review composite applications currently commonly utilizing PFAS materials and the status of PVF as a non-PFAS fluoropolymer within the regulatory landscape. DuPont will highlight PVF's exceptional surface protection and barrier properties, its compatibility with multiple composite manufacturing processes and its multifunctional use as a release film. Agenda Review of current PFAS regulations and in-scope materials Use cases for PFAS materials (films and coatings) in composite applications Non-PFAS options: range from non-fluorinated lower-performance materials to non-PFAS polyvinyl fluoride Overview: what PVF is, why it is non-PFAS and what its attributes are Real-world case studies

Low-Dielectric Thermoset Materials for Radome Design: Selection, Qualification and NCAMP Allowables

As aerospace and defense radar systems push into higher frequency bands with increasingly complex antenna arrays, radome material selection becomes a critical design variable. Composite architectures must simultaneously satisfy dielectric performance targets and structural, thermal, and environmental qualification requirements that vary across platform and mission profiles. In this webinar, Tom Sutter of Renegade Materials examines the latest low-dielectric thermoset material systems developed for radome applications, with emphasis on how specific Renegade systems address design requirements across relevant frequency ranges. The session covers material qualification pathways, manufacturing challenges, and an NCAMP-published design allowables database — a publicly available resource for reducing qualification risk and supporting certification efforts.Attendees will leave with a technical framework for evaluating and qualifying next-generation radome materials against electrical, structural, and regulatory design requirements.

Integrating AI and Machine Learning to Accelerate Composite Resin Formulation

Artificial intelligence and machine learning have entered into everyday usage, but what impact can they have on polymer and ceramic matrix composites development? Composite performance depends heavily on matrix properties that govern processability and operational stability. Increased digitization is providing clear value across industries, but successful application in composite resin formulations requires a clear understanding of the key questions and insight into the critical design factors. Combining expert know-how and atomic-level detail with powerful artificial intelligence and machine learning tools enables resin formulation teams to maximize successful design initiatives. This webinar will demonstrate how integrating machine learning with molecular simulation enables faster, more informed development of next-generation resin formulations.

      Driving Innovation in Sustainable Manufacturing

As the composite industry shifts toward a circular economy, manufacturers face a dual challenge: integrating nontraditional feedstocks while maintaining high-performance output. This session explores the technical pathways for processing recycled carbon fibers, natural fibers and waste-derived materials using advanced scattering and double-belt press technology. Rather than viewing sustainability as a cost burden, this webinar will examine the "define and refine" methodology—a systematic approach to optimizing material composition and recipe accuracy. Attendees will learn how continuous production cycles reduce energy demand and processing steps compared to traditional batch methods, supported by data-driven insights into carbon dioxide reduction and process repeatability.   Agenda Brief introduction to IPCO and overview of 2025/2026 market trends and their significance Innovations and next-generation products: using recycled materials for interior and exterior applications Energy efficiency and process optimization: reducing energy demand and processing steps Versatility and material selection: handling virgin and waste stream feedstock materials Scalability and production reliability: repeatability, recipe accuracy, and energy savings
