Fiberglass solutions elevate composites production goals
CAMX 2025: Johns Manville displays its portfolio of glass fiber reinforcements including MultiStar, StarRov and ThermoFlow, which were manufactured with thermoplastic and thermoset composites in mind.
Johns Manville (JM, Denver, Colo., U.S.), a Berkshire Hathaway company, manufactures and markets premium-quality building and specialty products. JM provides a wide range of fiberglass reinforcement solutions to improve the performance of thermoplastic and thermoset composites
JM spotlights its portfolio of fiberglass reinforcements, with a particular focus on the MultiStar multi-end roving product line. Known for its consistent performance and versatility, MultiStar continues to support a wide range of composites manufacturing processes across industries.
MultiStar 272, a key highlight at the booth, is well suited for sheet molding compound (SMC) applications where Class A surface finishes are required. Its reliable wet-out, low fuzz generation and smooth chopping behavior make it a dependable choice for automotive and industrial applications alike.
In addition to SMC, MultiStar is widely used in:
- Long-fiber reinforced polyurethane (PU) panels
- Glass mat thermoplastics (GMT)
- Spray-up and open-mold processes
- Thermoset weaving.
With optimal performance in thermoset and thermoplastic systems, JM says that MultiStar helps manufacturers maintain process efficiency and product quality. The company’s team is on hand to discuss how MultiStar and other reinforcement products — such as StarRov single-end rovings and ThermoFlow chopped strands — can support specific application needs.
