Carbon fiber demonstrate sustainability crossed with high performance

Teijin Carbon America (Rockwood, Tenn., U.S.) presents its latest innovations in carbon fiber technology with a strong focus on circularity, sustainability and high-performance solutions for aerospace, industrial markets and pressure vessels.
Tenax Next HTS45 E23 24K, introduced at JEC World 2025, represents a high-tenacity carbon fiber filament yarn that combines high performance with sustainability. Based on Teijin’s HTS platform, this product delivers a tensile strength above 4,800 MPa and a modulus of 240 GPa, ideal for demanding lightweight applications. Tenax Next also reduces environmental impact with up to 35% CO₂ savings compared to conventional carbon fiber, and is produced using renewable energy and optional sustainable raw materials.
Another highlight is Tenax Next R2S P513 6-mm, a short carbon fiber made from repurposed fiber materials to reinforce thermoplastic compounds. Designed to advance circular economy goals, this product offers strong mechanical properties, reduced CO₂ footprint, and full traceability via Teijin’s first Digital Product Passport (DPP) transparency tool.
Teijin Carbon also presents its first 36K intermediate modulus carbon fiber, Tenax IMS65 E23 36K. With a tensile strength of 5,800 MPa and a modulus of 280 GPa, it combines high mechanical performance with optimized processability, making it ideal for cost-sensitive applications like pressure vessels. An aerospace-grade version is currently in development.
In addition to its sustainability drive, Teijin Carbon is using its presence to emphasize a commitment to the U.S. market, with its Greenwood, South Carolina, plant beginning production of new materials to meet local demands.
