Despite the currently low economic forecasts in Germany and Europe, the composite equipment manufacturer, Schmidt & Heinzmann GmbH & Co. KG (Bruchsal, Germany), reports that it continues to grow. To further target the American market, the company opened its second U.S. subsidiary on April 1 in Cleveland, Ohio, to enable the company to achieve significantly faster response times for its customers.

The subsidiary benefits the company’s development in several ways. For example, when comparing Europe’s rather low economic forecast, Schmidt & Heinzmann says, the U.S. economy is booming, particularly as U.S. companies continues to prepare for the future. According to Schmidt & Heinzmann this is especially true in the cutting and stacking fields, as well as the processing of semi-finished composite products, all of which have experienced high growth rates in the U.S. The company’s technological leadership, built up by its constant machine and processes development in recent years, will contributes to this growth.

“With our new subsidiary in the greater Cleveland area, we will be able to serve and target customers in the Midwest and East Coast even faster,” says Christian Fais, president of Schmidt & Heinzmann North America. Commissioners, service engineers and project managers, which will coordinate commissioning and services, work at this site. Sales, marketing and general administration will continue to be located at the company’s other subsidiary in Phoenix, Ariz., U.S., as well as the service team for West Coast customers.

Schmidt & Heinzmann is delighted by the high international demand for its products. “We see an increasing request for solutions for the automated production of composite parts in the future. This is what we are focusing our international organization on,” says Matthias Feil, CEO of Schmidt & Heinzmann Group.
