Massimo Rebolini has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of DowAksa (Istanbul, Turkey), a carbon fiber manufacturer and joint venture between Dow Inc. (Midland, Mich., U.S.) and Aksa Acrylic (Yalova, Turkey). His appointment was effective June 1, 2023. He will replace Douglas Parks, who has been the company’s CEO since 2015, following a planned succession process.

Rebolini is a strategic leader with a strong international and operational track record in the chemical industry, knowledge in customer experience strategies as well as a deep experience in managing complex businesses. Before joining DowAksa, Massimo Rebolini was the global commercial vice president for Dow Consumer Solutions, a business unit of Dow.

“I am delighted to join DowAksa as its new CEO,” Rebolini says. “DowAksa is at an important juncture in its growth journey, and I look forward to working with the talented team to continue driving innovation and growth, while also furthering the company’s commitment to sustainability.”

“On behalf of DowAksa’s board of directors, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Douglas Parks for his leadership and contributions to the company,” Dan Futter, DowAksa’s chairman of the board, says. “We are confident that Massimo will help strengthen DowAksa’s market position further on an international scale and lead the company successfully through its next phase of growth.”

DowAksa was formed in 2012, combining the strengths of two companies, Dow, a global materials science solutions provider, and Aksa, a producer of acrylic fibers. The 50:50 joint venture provides fully integrated solutions including product (from precursor to carbon fiber to resin), engineering, technology and knowledge to carbon fiber and carbon fiber intermediate needs of industrial markets.
