Editor’s note: CompositesWorld received several new product and technology announcements ahead of JEC World 2020, which had been scheduled for March 3-5. Although that exhibition was postponed to May, CW is now publishing the announcements we received. This is one of them.
Roth Composite Machinery (Steffenberg, Germany) is showcasing its competences in filament winding, prepreg and organic sheet production.
The focus of Roth’s trade show presentation is machines for manufacturing lightweight materials such as prepregs and towpregs as well as machines for their processing. The company’s performance range comprises high-speed towpreg winding, fully automated production lines and the Type 1-ECO machine for less complex production processes in the field of filament winding technology, as well as robot filament winding machines.
The company says that an advantage of its production lines is its short installation period, enabling faster startup times on production processes.
A wave of new composite flywheel developments for bus, rail, auto, heavy truck, construction equipment, and power grid support promises fuel savings, improved efficiency and reduced emissions — i.e. sustainability in the global quest for more energy.
Lower fuel costs and escalating emissions standards are driving a 10 percent annual growth in alternative fuel pressure vessel sales.
High-pressure gas storage vessels represent one of the biggest and fastest-growing markets for advanced composites.
