Chemical Concepts expands U.S. reach, composite-adjacent portfolio with Perigee Direct acquisition
Chemical Concepts cites an expanded product portfolio, e-commerce capabilities and distribution footprint for specialized adhesives, resins and dispensing consumables.
Chemical Concepts (Huntingdon Valley, Pa., U.S.) has acquired Perigee Direct (North Richland Hills, U.S.) a Texas-based supplier of specialty consumables for science and industrial customers, significantly expanding its product portfolio, e-commerce capabilities and distribution footprint.
Chemical Concepts serves manufacturers in composite-heavy end markets, including automotive and aerospace, and positions itself as a solutions partner for designing and implementing bonding and assembly processes. On the product side, Chemical Concepts’ structural adhesive guidance explicitly discusses bonding composites (including FRP/SMC) with epoxy, MMA and urethane systems, and frames these 2K systems as load-bearing solutions that can replace mechanical fasteners.
Perigee Direct’s 19-year track record expands the combined organization’s composite-adjacent catalog breadth and application tooling. Perigee carries marine composite resins and bonding compounds via its Arjay Composites offering (for boat manufacturing and repair), and its catalog also includes honeycomb/panel bonding epoxies and a large portfolio of dispensing and mixing consumables (mixing nozzles, dispensing systems), which are central to repeatable composites bonding and assembly work. Perigee also maintains an aerospace and defense offering that emphasizes structural adhesives, sealants, and precision dispensing equipment for demanding environments.
A key advantage of the deal is Perigee Direct’s Texas operations, which will operate as a strategic distribution hub. This location will reduce delivery times for customers across the Western and Southern U.S., while increasing capacity for both companies’ product lines.
“Perigee Direct is laser-focused on delivering an excellent user experience,” says Andrew Morris, CEO of Chemical Concepts. “They possess the capabilities and market presence we were seeking: deep expertise in specialty applications, strong customer relationships and a Texas location that fills a critical gap in our distribution network.”
For customers, the acquisition means more product choice, faster shipping and expanded technical support. Both companies’ customer bases will keep their existing service relationships while gaining the benefit of a stronger combined operation.
