Fairmat (Paris, France), the deeptech company founded in 2020 to revolutionize the recycling of carbon fiber, has signed a new long-term contract with Dassault Aviation (Paris) for the collection and recycling of carbon fiber composite production offcuts.

Fairmat has grown rapidly since its creation, and says it continues to attract the attention of key players in the composite materials, aeronautics and wind energy industries (read “Fairmat to recycle 30% of industry’s carbon fiber waste in Europe one year after inception”). This contract between Fairmat and Dassault Aviation testifies to the success of their partnership, which began in 2021 with the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for the recycling of carbon fiber composites.

“Our contract with Dassault Aviation is proof of the quality of our work and our commitment to innovation and sustainability for a positive and significant ecological impact increasingly important with major players in heavy industries,” Benjamin Saada, founder of Fairmat, says.

Fairmat’s mechanical recycling process is reported to enable the production offcuts and industrial waste to be recycled while retaining high mechanical properties. It also consumes little energy and ensures a low carbon footprint.

Fairmat plans to expand its footprint internationally, increasing its recycling capacity (see “Fairmat inaugurates Bouguenais carbon fiber recycling facility” as one example). The company reports the forging of strategic partnerships with key players around the world, in order to further develop and deploy its high-performance, eco-friendly technology. The company’s long-term goal is to significantly increase Fairmat’s positive environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future for the industry as a whole.
