CMS SpA (Zogno, Italy and Caledonia, Mich., U.S.), is a manufacturer of CNC machines and systems for advanced materials (including carbon fiber, aluminum and light alloys), plastic, glass, stone and metals processing. The company has recently entered a partnership agreement with United Aerospace Ltd. (UA, Pembrokeshire, U.K.) — known for its background in designing and producing composite components and assemblies — which will result in the first CMS Kreator hybrid large-format 3D printer and multi-axis milling machine installation in the U.K.

This technical and commercial collaboration brings benefits to both parties and is primarily based on continued knowledge sharing, ongoing application development and joint marketing activities. In addition to being used for actual production after installation, the CMS Kreator machine also effectively provides a U.K. showroom and laboratory to facilitate trials and demonstrations for potential UA and CMS customers.

Working with a range of materials including composites to suit customer application requirements, UA will use this hybrid milling and large format additive machine to develop and produce actual products for its clients including autoclave tooling, jigs and fixtures for use in UA’s computerized autoclaves or assembly facility.
