AM Group adds carbon fiber composites capabilities via UBC Composites
The purchase of composite parts, model and toolmaking specialist UBC Composites will expand AM Group’s high-end automotive offerings, and give new opportunities in other demanding industries.
AM Group Holding B.V. (Ridderkerk, South Holland, Netherlands) has acquired UBC Composites (Murr, Germany), a European specialist in high-end carbon fiber components for both aesthetic and structural applications. With production facilities in Germany (Murr) and Slovakia (Kostolné Kračany), UBC will now become part of AM Group.
With decades of expertise in engineering, prototyping and serial production, UBC adds its carbon fiber capability to AM Group’s portfolio. This step strengthens AM Group’s position in the premium automotive sector while also opening new opportunities in other demanding industries such as defense, yachting, aerospace and renewable energy.
For UBC’s existing OEM and high-end clients, continuity is guaranteed: the same people, the same quality, the same service. All 170 employees will remain on board, securing valuable expertise and ensuring stability. At the same time, UBC will benefit from new investment and additional business from within AM Group, providing a solid platform for renewed growth and innovation.
On AM Group’s end, the purchase will accelerate innovation in design, engineering and customization, while expanding its ability to serve OEM and niche industry clients worldwide with even greater capability.
“When selecting a partner for UBC, our priority was to secure both stability and growth,” says Peter Gerl, managing director of UBC Composites. “AM Group brings the right combination: financial strength, direct new business and a strategic fit with our expertise in high-end carbon fiber.”
