Predicting strength of fiber-filled components using Moldflow® and Helius PFA

October 13, 2015 | -

Short fiber reinforced plastic materials are commonly used for their strength and weight benefits, as well as their ability to be manufactured quickly. In order to complete an accurate structural simulation of a short fiber reinforced plastic part, the as-manufactured material properties need to be accounted for. Without including data such as fiber orientations and residual stresses/strains, the structural simulation results will not match the performance of the actual manufactured part. Learn how the as-manufactured material from Autodesk® Moldflow® can be used with Autodesk® Helius PFA to complete an accurate nonlinear structural simulation.
