Global Caravan Technologies (GCT, Speedway, Ind., USA) has developed the CR-1 Carbon, which it touts as the world's first all-carbon fiber, super-luxury RV designed for series production, utilizing technologies from the motorsports, automotive, information technology (IT) and aerospace industries.  Using carbon fiber to achieve extreme weight savings while strengthening the vehicle structures and eliminating mechanical fastening for improved durability, the CR-1 will offer improved gas mileage when towing and a new level of luxury and connectivity for today’s consumers.

The monocoque structure of the CR-1 was designed in collaboration with esteemed IndyCar manufacturer Dallara (Varano de’ Melegari, Italy and Dallara Indycar Factory in Indianapolis, Ind., USA), who helped with its strengths in composites, learned from decades of experience in competition racing. The influence of other industries can be seen in the 35-ft (11m) long CR-1’s list of standard and optional features.
