Laboratorios Argenol S.L (Zaragoza, Spain) is a high-quality antimicrobial additives manufacturer present in the pharmacy, cosmetic and industrial markets. Manufacturing silver, gold and platinum active ingredients, the company offers antimicrobial solutions to fight against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, preventing infections as well as the growth of bacteria and viruses in a wide range of applications.
BactiBlock, a range of industrial additives, is a silver-based antimicrobial additive compatible with most polymers as well as construction materials, and coatings. Silver is said to be a natural, active, broad-spectrum antimicrobial substance that is safe upon human contact. According to Laboratorios Argenol, BactiBlock technology provides controlled ionic silver liberation for a long-lasting, homogeneous and VOC-free antimicrobial effect which protects materials and keep surfaces free of microorganisms.
The silver ions-based boost dispersion is offered in two base materials, clay and glass. Clay-based involves silver-functionalized clay compounds based on a naturally sourced ingredient, while glass-based is an amorphous glass, relatively soluble, treated with silver. Both technologies are said to provide inorganic, inert, recyclable and effective additives in small concentrations and have demonstrated highly satisfactory results when subjected to humidity and UV light aging treatments.
BactiBlock additives are available in powder, gel and masterbatch form.
