Exhibitors and attendees are anticipating this year to be one of the largest CAMX trade shows yet. Taking place Oct. 17-20, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., U.S., the composites event is backed by a vast variety of cutting-edge technologies and innovations, new commercial and industrial applications, more than 10 live manufacturing demonstrations, 100+ education sessions, networking opportunities, Camp Fire Sessions, presentation of the trade show’s acclaimed CAMX Awards and Awards in Composites Excellence (ACE) program and even a podcast put on by Composites Weekly which will interview industry innovators, award winners and experts at CAMX Park Place throughout the event. 

What follows is Part 1 of an exhibit preview lineup that highlights 60 CAMX exhibitors and the software, materials, equipment and services they will feature in their booths, as solicited and received by CW. Company names are linked directly back to the original preview article.

  • 9T Labs: The additive manufacturing equipment OEM is to display its Red Series Build and Fusion Modules, as well as a composition of 3D-printed composite components showing off its additive fusion technology.
  • Abaris Training Resources: Abaris is available to discuss its wide range of advanced composites training courses and technical project assistance services offered to customers.
  • Accudyne Systems: Accudyne Systems has developed automated ultrasonic net edge-of-part trimming solutions for a variety of composite preforms.
  • Addcomposites, IND Group: The co-exhibition shows customers a more complete visual of the value chains that can be implemented in the composites industry via Addcomposites’ AFP system solutions and IND Group’s cobot platforms.
  • Adwest Technologies/CECO Environmental: CECO Environmental subsidiary, Adwest, abates VOCs with the design, manufacturing and installation of thermal and catalytic oxidizers, serving markets such as composites, paint finishing and chemical processing.
  • AGY: An S-2 Glass fiber/epoxy material produced collaboratively between AGY and Kaneka Aerospace offers tunable transparency, low haze, good impact and mechanical properties.
  • Airborne: Airborne’s Automated Ply Placement and Automated Edge Sealing technologies aim to ensure constant, repeatable and flexible production of complex composite products.
  • Armacell: Armacell’s exhibit lineup emphasizes its wide range of eco-friendly PET foam solutions for composites manufacturing, including ArmaPET Struct, Eco, Curve and Shape.
  • Autometrix Inc.: Autometrix unveils its software software “trifecta” for managing the nesting and cutting of large numbers of plies in composite products more effectively — PatternSmith, Forge and Workflow.
  • Autonational Composite Machinery: CAMX gives Autonational the opportunity to display its mobile filament winder, which can be used to produce very large-dimension composite products, and the company’s all-in-one machining center solutions.
  • Avient Corp.: Avient features sustainable composite material solutions in thermosets, thermoplastics and other engineered fibers, including a new formulation of its Polystrand thermoplastic.
  • Bally Ribbon Mills: Bally Ribbon Mills highlights its capabilities in design and manufacture of woven structural shapes for hybrid composite structures used in aerospace applications.
  • Bondtech Corp.: Bondtech offers industry attendees an extensive selection of autoclaves, pressure vessel solutions and services.
  • Boston Materials: Bimetal is an engineered carbon fiber metal laminate that offers a different solution to monolithic sheet metals. Bimetal is said to have good mechanical properties and be lighter to traditional monolithic materials.
  • Brighton Science: Brighton Sciences aims to bring surface intelligence to R&D efforts and mission-critical decisions with its handheld diagnostic tools, including the Surface Analyst.
  • BriskHeat Corp.: BriskHeat manufactures a full line of heaters and temperature controllers, designed to solve a variety of composite curing, repair applications.
  • Century Design Inc.: Century Design Inc. spotlights the OnDemand Material processing lines for prepregs, tapes and towpregs, serving to cut out the middle man and enable manufacturers to control their own materials production.
  • Cevotec: The company’s carbon fiber pressure vessel dome reinforcement using FPP technology effectively cuts cycle time and material consumption while increasing storage efficiency by 19%.
  • Cimbar Performance Minerals: Cimbar’s halogen-free ATH solution for thermoset applications reduces resin costs in formulation, provides better wetout and faster line speeds and improves mold flow. 
  • Click Bond: Click Bond develops lightweight fasteners for assembly technology that require no installation holes, preserve structural integrity and are easy to install.
  • Collier Aerospace: New HyperX software is built for analysis and design optimization of composite structures in aircraft, space, and automotive vehicles and other high-end applications.
  • Collins Aerospace: Collins Aerospace identifies its extensive thermoplastics portfolio, including the display of an aircraft nacelle’s integrated curved stiffener and upper and lower longerons. 
  • Composite Alliance Corp.: Composite part design and fabrication is supported through standard and custom solutions with global tooling, machinery and service supplier Composite Alliance Corp.
  • Composite Automation: Composite Automation is joined by Isojet Equipements and PCM/Lucas Industries, bringing solutions for every step of the composites manufacturing process to one booth.
  • Composites Horizons: Composites Horizons’ services specialize in polyimide- and oxide-based CMC materials used to produce high-temperature structures for aerospace customers.
  • Composites One: With the Closed Molding Alliance and industry partners, nine live demonstrations educate attendees on the latest technologies trends in closed molding.
  • Concordia Fibers: The development of commingled (blended) carbon fiber bears a wide range of reinforcement and thermoplastic fibers applications, including thermoplastic prepregs.
  • Conductive Composites: Conductive Composites expands its portfolio of multifunctional electrically conductive composite materials with a new line of NiShield nonwovens and NiBond electrically conductive two-part structural epoxy adhesive.
  • Culture iN: Biodegradable and VOC-free flax-based textile, Varian, offers composites manufacturers a more ecological, environmentally friendly alternative to carbon and glass fiber composites.
  • Current Inc.: Current Inc. produces thermoset-based products such as tubing rods, sheets and more, with high electrical and mechanical characteristics and different color combinations.
  • Demeta Solutions: Demeta exhibits NexTene PCX resin, Metton LMR and a PDCPD odorless polymer, realized through various collaborations for high-performance composite part production.
  • Dolphitech: In-service inspection capabilities for composites, metals and bonded structures are made more robust, flexible and portable with the Dolphicam2 MxTTU platform.
  • Eastman Machine Co.: Eastman Machine’s Heavy-Duty Toolhead serves to increasing production flexibility and minimize downtime while changing tool configurations when cutting materials like composites.
  • EconCore: rPET honeycomb technology is designed to replace plywood, monolithic panels and other conventional materials.
  • Engenuity: CZone, a predictive software for reliable composite crash simulations is used widely in Formula 1, but has potential applicability in other safety-critical markets like road transport and UAM.
  • Engineering Technology Corp.: ETC exhibits turnkey composites equipment like laboratory-scale and multi-spindle automated winders, as well as a large-scale tape wrapping machine at its joint booth with Zoltek.
  • Entropy Resins: Entropy Resins highlights its Super Sap epoxy resin technology, aimed at reducing the company’s environmental impact without compromising performance.
  • EuroLink International Business Development: EuroLink shares its expertise in providing technical marketing expertise and technical sales contacts across many industries for established or growing businesses.
  • Eurotherm: Energy savings, improvement of material properties and reduction of regulatory costs are benefits listed by Eurotherm as part of its heat treatment and composite solutions.
  • Eurovac: Eurovac specializes in manufacturing and distributing a variety of dust and fume extraction systems, in addition to engineering, installation and after sales service.
  • Fives: The Composites Automated Solutions line from Fives supplies next-gen automated composites manufacturing solutions, such as the Cincinnati Robotic Viper, Cincinnati Supercharger and Fives In-Process Inspection for increased productivity.
  • The Fluency Business Group: Fluency demonstrates its various marketing and communications services for the advanced materials and engineering market.
  • Gerster TechTex: Gerster TechTex’s gussets/corner reinforcements and fillers are intended to reinforce the corners of composite parts in automotive, wind and sports industries.
  • Gougeon Brothers Inc.: Pro-Set Epoxy offers a variety of standard and customizable epoxy systems to create strong, lightweight and high-performance composites that can withstand harsh environments.
  • Graphene Council: Graphene Council is a community of materials professionals utilizing graphene to develop a new range of products and applications.
  • Gummiwerk Kraiburg GmbH & Co. KG: Kraibon elastomers can be directly integrated into different material classes such as composites, providing improved acoustics, splinter protection, energy absorption and more.
  • Hauser Engineering: German-made Speedmixer Smart DAC is ideal for companies with highly automated laboratories and small batch production, simplifying and accelerating mixing of temperature-sensitive materials.  
  • Held Technologie GmbH: Flexible and robust double belt presses from Held Technologie are adaptable to various base composite material requirements to produce top-quality, long-lasting products. 
  • Helicoid Industries: Helicoidal fiber-reinforced composites are the inspiration for new developments in rain erosion-resistant substrates, improvement in damage tolerance and sustainable composites.
  • Heraeus Noblelight: Humm3 technology is a high power, safe, highly controllable broadband heat source for automated fiber placement, automated tape laying, filament winding and other composites applications.
  • Hexagon: Hexagon’s Digimat + Volume Graphics workflow interface delivers a robust connection between process, material and performance, enabling new, advanced materials exploration.
  • INEOS Composites: Improved quality, efficiency and less environmental impact have been demonstrated by INEOS’ Derakane resins, applicable for corrosion-resistant FRP tanks, pipes, ducting, pultruded profiles and custom components. 
  • Innerspec Technologies: Taurus and Camus 3D ultrasonic inspection systems provide automated and semi-automated solutions for composite aerospace components.
  • Instron: Featuring gaskets, a patent-pending airflow design, fortified frames, abrasion-resistant coating and more, Instron's 6800 Series systems are designed with composites and other complex materials testing in mind.
  • IPS Adhesives: IP Adhesives brand Scigrip releases the SG800 adhesive, specially formulated for the transportation industry and easily adaptable to a variety of workflows.
  • JEC Group: JEC Group leveraging curiosity, openness and creativity in the composites community through regular publications, market overviews, organized events and awards programs.
  • Kaneka Aerospace: Kaneka Aerospace is putting on two presentations demonstrating an E-glass prepreg and X-TP, a material with thermoset and thermoplastic benefits. Its booth displays new fire-retardant resin offerings.
  • Kastilo Technical Fabrics GmbH: Kastilo highlights its specialization in PTFE-coated fabrics and belts, including its Magic Surface film lamination coating and PTFE-coated Multiple fabric/belts.
  • Kent Pultrusion: Kent Pultrusion showcases the electric ServoPul, which Kent says has been distinguished from other pultrusion machines through the elimination of hydraulics.
  • L&L Products: L&L Products displays three different products at its CAMX booth including its Phaster curing technology line, thermoplastic hybrid resin, T-Link and CCS.
  • Laboratorios Argenol S.L: The company’s BactiBlock range of industrial additives seeks to provide antimicrobial solutions that are compatible with a wide range of advanced materials. 
  • Leesona: Leesona showcases high-quality, precision, automatic and manual winding solutions that are capable of working with a range of composite materials and fiber thicknesses.
