Wind & Ocean Energy Seminar just weeks away
The 2011 Wind & Ocean Energy Seminar, April 13-14 in Maine, features several well-known speakers, including consultant Chris Red, Stephen Nolet (TPI), Robert Lindyberg and Dan Shreve.
CompositesWorld, publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, is hosting the 2011 Wind & Ocean Energy Seminar, April 13-14 at the Wyndham Portland Airport Hotel in South Portland, Maine, USA. There is still time to register for this event.
Organized in association with the Maine Composites Alliance, the seminar will explore the market and opportunities in wind blade and ocean energy and will include speaker topics on technology, design and manufacturing, installation and repair.
Day 1 presentations include:
- Chris Red, vice president, Composite Market Reports, who will assess demand for industrial-scale wind, demand for small wind, emerging ocean/river energy systems, and the impact on composite materials and manufacturing.
- Stephen Nolet, principal engineer at TPI Composites, who will review advancements in the manufacdture of large composite wind turbine blades.
- Rober Lindyberg, project manager at the AEWC at the University of Maine, who will review DeepCwind's floating platform design decisions.
- Dan Shreve, director, MAKE Consulting, who will provide a market overview, as well as design and component information.
Agenda topics include composites in wind blades, floating platforms for offshore wind systems, tidal turbine technology, small and community wind, wind blade repair, government initiatives, and an outlook of the wind energy market.
