Mulholland Automotive Ltd. (Derby, U.K.), a new company that is part of engineering company and automotive supplier Mulholland Group, recently announced that it has produced a carbon fiber-intensive, two-seater sportscar.

Orders are now available for the Legend 480, a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive, manual transition two-seater coupe engineered with a carbon fiber composite chassis for light weight as well as style. The “480” in the name reflects the car’s horsepower output.

“As one of Europe’s leading advanced component engineering manufacturers, we have been a specialist supplier to most high profile motor racing teams along with practically every premium branded niche-vehicle manufacturer which we will continue to supply,” says Graham Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Automotive. “The Legend 480 however, enables us to showcase our technology, expertise and capabilities to a much bigger global audience plus it enables us to celebrate the combustion engine before moving to emerging technology.”

The car’s carbon fiber chassis and sculptured lines will be developed by Mulholland Composites, also part of the Mulholland Group, using processes developed and used to produce Formula One and GT racers. The Legend 480 will be built at Mulholland Group’s Derby factory.

“The Legend 480 is a truly focused machine: great design underpinned by superior engineering produced by an incredibly experienced and well-established team. We are ready to start production and take customers with us on a journey,” Mulholland says.
