As of Jan. 18, Montalvo Corp. (Gorham, Maine, U.S.) is celebrating its 75th year anniversary. The company has specialized in the manufacture, integration, retrofit and service of a wide range of tension control products for a variety of industries, including paper, film, foil, nonwovens, plastics, packaging, medical, composites and more since its founding by Edwin J. Montalvo in 1947. To this day, the company’s core principle is “Build a product right the first time and back it up with the highest quality service and support.”

“My father built this company on the principle of family, and for 75 years Montalvo has distinguished itself from others by treating our customers like family and how we would want to be treated ourselves,” reflects Edwin Montalvo, managing director. “Customers know when they work with Montalvo that they are working with some of the industry’s most talented, knowledgeable and experienced individuals. The respect Montalvo has earned within the industry and with its customers continues to drive the company to deliver the finest tension control products, services and solutions we are known for. I am excited [to see] what the next 75 years bring.”

Montalvo claims it has established itself as a worldwide leader in the web handling and web tension control industry, from the invention of the dual disc multiple range air brake and clutch for use in continuous unwinding and winding applications, to range expansion, torque-sensing controls systems and new innovations coming in 2022.

“Montalvo is in its peek of innovation and creativity. We are increasing our product line and expanding into new markets. Our team is one of the strongest teams Montalvo has ever had, and with it come more excitement for the new products, services and solutions. We are web handling and tension control experts and we have a capability that no other company in the industry can offer,” adds CEO Bryon Williams.
