Aeronix Technologies (Melbourne, Fla., U.S.), a manufacturer and supplier of tools and consumable items for the composite manufacturing industry, has launched a new range of modular, mobile vacuum stations.

Designed specifically for the vacuum processing of composite parts, the Aeronix Technologies VacStation reportedly reduces setup time and helps maximize productivity.

The company’s commercial director, Andrew Edge, says the VacStation can be optimized to suit any process or line configuration, including prepreg, vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) and infusion. The station can also be used to consolidate a wet laminate. The VacStation has been designed for mobility, making it quick to relocate around manufacturing facilities; it incorporates both an integrated lifting point and braked casters.

A gauge protector comes standard on the vacuum station, and the pump and catch pot can be configured according to customer requirements. The catch pot can be supplied in a number of sizes — for example, some users may require a larger catch pot for use as a degassing chamber, whereas a smaller catch pot might be required to help reduce the size and weight of the VacStation. Regardless of which configuration is used, the option to customize line connections to enable various vacuum connection methods — from quick connectors to simple hose tails — is available.

The VacStation range has been paired with Becker (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, U.S.) rotary vacuum pumps, which can be supplied in a wide range of capacities depending upon customer requirements.
