Röchling Industrial (South Euclid, Ohio, U.S.) has recently expanded its composites division site, Röchling Glastic Composites (Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.), the competence center for composite materials in North America. With the new logistics building, the company says it is strengthening its leading market position in North America and improving delivery capabilities for its customers. The $4.9 million investment, in addition to securing the further growth of the location, will also create new jobs in the region.

“With the new capacities, we are improving the availability of goods for composites and the service for our customers in America,” Franz Lübbers, CEO Röchling Industrial, emphasizes. “The volume of business in Cleveland has grown steadily over the past few years. With the new opportunities, our strong team in Cleveland now has the prerequisites for planned growth.”

Röchling Industrial was founded in 1946. The company, which has been part of the Röchling Group since 2007, is said to now a global leader in the manufacture of composites. Its main business is the manufacture of sheets and profiles. The products are primarily used in the electrical industry, light rail transit, oil and gas industry, plastics and rubber processing and in liquified gas transport and storage due to their electric and thermal insulation characteristics.

The most recent expansion was implemented after a planning phase of almost two years in close cooperation with the city of South Euclid, Cuyahoga County and the state of Ohio.

As one of the leading processor of plastics, the Röchling Group took over what was then Glastic Corp in 2007. Since then, Röchling says it has regularly invested in the modern systems and machines at the Cleveland location. The investment in the new logistics building is the company's fourth expansion since the original factory was built in 1951.

“We are delighted that Röchling is investing in the location and that we have been able to implement the expansion together,” Georgine Welo, Mayor of South Eclid says. “Röchling Industrial is the cornerstone of South Euclid's industry. We expect that the project and the new jobs will contribute to the further development of our city and the industrial area.”
