The University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials (Newark, DE, US) is seeking nominations for the 2018 Medal of Excellence in Composite Materials, which will be awarded in conjunction with the American Society for Composites 33rd Annual Technical Conference to be held on September 24-26, 2018 at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, US.

The Medal of Excellence in Composite Materials was established in 1984 in conjunction with the Decennial Celebration of the Center for Composite Materials of the University of Delaware. The medal is to recognize outstanding achievement in the field of composite materials.

Criteria for the award of the Medal of Excellence in Composite Materials include significant contributions to the field of composite materials through leadership, scholarly endeavor, invention and/or economic enterprise over a sustained period of years. We are seeking nominations from the entire composites community to identify individuals befitting this honor and recognition. The Honors Committee, comprising of Professors Tsu-Wei Chou, John W. Gillespie, Jr., and Suresh G. Advani, will compile the results and consult with all past Medal winners on the final selection.

Please submit nomination packets to Corinne Hamed by March 1. Packets are to include a biographical sketch or resume and a recommendation letter highlighting the contributions and impact that the nominee has had on the composite materials field. We thank you in advance for your contribution to this important selection process.
