August 04, 2021 |

In this webinar, MVP technical experts will evaluate a variety of methods including Light RTM, Infusion, Flex Molding Process, and the latest technology called Fast Flow LRTM.

Manufacturers are adopting closed molding composite processes for benefits such as reduced waste, lower emissions, and to achieve consistency and repeatability. With so many processes and options, identifying and implementing the right method can seem daunting. Magnum Venus Products (MVP), a global provider of fluid movement and production solutions, has been a leader in closed molding technology since its inception. With equipment, accessories, and years of knowledge and experience working with manufacturers, MVP offers comprehensive solutions and support for closed molding.

In this webinar, MVP technical experts will evaluate a variety of methods including Light RTM, Infusion, Flex Molding Process, and the latest technology called Fast Flow LRTM. Attendees will learn an overview of each process, where processes are most effective, and tips and tricks for optimizing efficiency.

Presenter 1:

Charles Tur

Closed Molding Specialist

Charles Tur began his career in the Composites Industry over 20 years ago, and in that time has built a reputation as an expert in the technology of Resin Transfer Molding and, more recently, Infusion. In 1984, Charles began teaching students at Team les Galapiats located in Grenoble, France. This association was formed to teach children the value of manual work and how products are made through high tech processes like RTM. The methods that he introduced during that time are still used today. In 1987, Charles branched out to start his own Composites construction company. All Composites Construction, as the company name implies manufactured 50 foot ULDB sailboats using several composites process and materials including vacuum, RTM and more. After five years, Charles decided to sell the company and move in a new direction. In 1987, Charles branched out to start his own Composites construction company. All Composites Construction, as the company name implies manufactured 50 foot ULDB sailboats using several composites process and materials including vacuum, RTM and more. After five years, Charles decided to sell the company and move in a new direction. Charles moved into a collaboration with various material supplies in 1992 to learn more about emerging technologies like Infusion, Prestovac, RTM, etc., and to determine the best methods for developing products and setting up operations using the Light RTM process. He would then travel to various organizations to demonstrate the methods he had learned and give presentations of the processes. After six years, Charles made the move to head up the technical support and sales for Chomarat, a French-based company that manufacturers glass weaves. From 1998 until he left in 2004, Charles did over 300 presentations, in 30 countries on the Light RTM process, and was involved in the development of new product implementation such as Rovidécor, Rovifoam, Roviplast and more. In 2005 Charles decided to strike out on his own and become an independent consultant available to train designers, mold makers and production personnel in the process of closed mold production. As Ardeche Composites Consulting, his services included technical follow-up, initial feasibility studies, methods for optimizing production, training and more. During this time he also continued to survey the development of new process that would improve his client’s production methods. In 2007, Charles took on a new challenge and started with Magnum Venus Products as their RTM/Infusion Technical Specialist. Bringing his years of knowledge and experience, Charles now presents the Light RTM and Flex Molding Process workshops, held throughout the international market. His duties also include working directly with Joan Tracy, Vice-President of International Sales and the international distributors on consultation, planning, installation, training and problem solving for customers at their facilities.
