American Colors acquires Italy-based Colorificio Migliavacca

The strategic location is a key part of American Color’s expansion strategy to support and gain market presence in pigment dispersions in Europe.

American Colors Inc. (Sandusky, Ohio, U.S.) has acquired Colorificio Migliavacca (Bergamo, Italy), a 110-year-old company recognized for producing difficult pigment dispersions with high quality and service. Colorifico Migliavacca has also received numerous awards over the course of its history. 

“We have been searching for the right partner in Europe and we have found that in Colorificio Migliavacca,” says James Oram Wible, co-founder and chairman of the Board of American Colors. “We are excited that they have decided to join us.” The strategic location is a fundamental part of the company’s expansion strategy to support and gain market presence in Europe.

American Colors is a manufacturer of liquid colorants and specialty chemicals supplied to diverse applications that include paints, coatings, adhesives, composites, films, landscape and agriculture. Since its founding in 1975, the company has continually grown by fulfilling the demands of new and existing markets. American Colors has manufacturing facilities in Sandusky, Ohio; Lebanon, Tennessee; Gallatin, Tennessee; Seguin, Texas; and Shanghai, China.

“The addition of Colorificio Migliavacca will enable American Colors to service our customers on a worldwide basis, adding to our operations in the U.S. and Asia. We are excited that Roberto Migliavacca and Pietro Migliavacca will continue to lead the company,” concludes Wible.
