Inspire InUtah, is an initiative of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (Go Utah) to help support women entrepreneurs and women in the workplace at every level. As part of its new initiative, 100 Companies Championing Women focuses on recognizing and highlighting the stories of 100 Utah companies that offer family-friendly policies and practices, as well as women-specific initiatives known to impact the recruiting, hiring, retaining and advancing of women employees, managers and leaders. From those that submitted, the Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI) was selected, recognized for its efforts to create an environment of equity and inclusion for women in Utah.

“Inspire In Utah is a unique opportunity to promote Utah’s women in business,” Dan Hemmert, executive director of the Economic Opportunity office noted when the nomination applications opened in September 2022. “We’re excited to present an opportunity for Utah businesses and businesspeople to be highlighted. Many companies are already working diligently to support women in the workplace. As part of Inspire In Utah, we hope to identify more than 100 companies and help tell their stories and the stories of women in business.”

UAMMI’s selection as one of those companies was based on the organization’s nomination application, exhibiting excellence in the areas of return-to-work programs, women in upper management and on boards, diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and flexible schedules and location options, among other programs.

As a 100 Companies Championing Women, UAMMI is to be highlighted in the Inspire in Utah campaign, featured with other companies to serve as models in the state’s ongoing campaign that encourages and promotes the advancement of women in Utah.

To further its own efforts in this space, for the third consecutive year UAMMI is calling for 2023 nominations for “Women in Advanced Manufacturing” to recognize an honorary selection of women leaders actively guiding Utah’s advanced manufacturing industry forward. These women are strong examples of the diversity and balance required for Utah to compete and excel in such an internationally competitive industry. Please submit your nominations with this form by Jan. 21, 2023.
