At JEC World 2023, Xenia Materials (Mussolente, Italy) is introducing Xegreen, a product family of recycled thermoplastic fibers made from rigorously selected, certified fibers from manufacturing waste and end-of-life (EOL) parts.

Using its technical knowledge in the development and production of high-performance thermoplastic composites, Xenia says it is able to ensure high mechanical performance and light weight comparable to virgin fibers, while maintaining consistent processability between batches. The company engineers formulations and solutions to meet each application’s technical specifications.

The Xegreen product line stemmed from manufacturers’ search in recent years for solutions to replacing virgin plastic materials with recycled materials. The goal is to reintegrate waste products back into the production chain. Xenia says this transition is unfortunately often limited because of the poor mechanical performance of these materials, making their use impossible where such requirements are fundamental. Xegreen was developed to overcome this barrier, enabling replacement of structural high-quality materials with a recycled alternative.
