Gurit launches partnership with composite kit-maker Mahogany

Gurit has agreed to a tolling arrangement with composite kit maker Mahogany Co. of Mays Landing for the fabrication of Gurit's B3 SmartPac solution.

Gurit (Newport, Isle of Wight, U.K.), a global manufacturer and supplier of composite materials, engineering, tooling, parts and systems, announced on May 15 a new tolling arrangement with composite kit manufacturer Mahogany Co. of Mays Landing (Mays Landing, N.J.), for the fabrication of Gurit’s B3 SmartPac solution.

Following Gurit’s recent global restructure, Gurit has decided to streamline its B3 SmartPac operations in Bristol, R.I., USA, and toll produce all North American B3 SmartPac kits in conjunction with Mahogany Co. of Mays Landing.

Mahogany brings experience in kit cutting and will fabricate all B3 SmartPac kits to existing specifications, using the same labelling and packaging techniques that have come to define the B3 SmartPac solution. Gurit USA’s sales, customer support and structural engineering teams will continue to operate from the Bristol office.

Lance Hill, Gurit’s regional sales director, Americas, comments, “Our agreement with Mahogany will bring together Gurit's vast materials and design capabilities with the wealth of kitting experience of Mahogany which will benefit our customers in terms of service and product offering.”

Gurit’s B3 SmartPac is a construction solution that helps builders manufacture composite components more efficiently and cost-effectively than ever before. It comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boatbuilding.
