Barrday Advanced Material Solutions (formerly Lewcott Corp., Millbury, Mass.) has introduced LC294 and LC296, a family of high-performance interior prepregs that reportedly provide sub 30/30 Ohio State University (OSU) heat-release properties as well as low smoke release and self-extinguishing properties. In addition, it has a good surface finish and self-adhesive properties. Additionally, LC296 is a snap cure (10 to 17 minutes at 265°F to 280°F/130°C to 138°C), toughened, phenolic-based prepreg system. The company says the materials have already been qualified at a major manufacturer of interior components.
