At CAMX 2014, Convergent Manufacturing Technologies (Vancouver, BC, Canada) shared booth space with Dassault Systèmes (Waltham, MA, US), and discussed its software products. Compatible with Dassault’s software ecosystem, they reportedly help reduce manufacturing risk and shorten processing time. It’s COMPRO software enables advanced composites part processing simulation that enables prediction of process-induced deformation (spring-in) during the cure cycle, and simulates how tooling can be modified or reengineered to eliminate the deformation. Engineer Corey Lynam also described a new product called COHO, which consists of high-performance gas flow sensors, connected to standard vacuum lines, to measure gas flow and detect any leaks. COHO is designed to ensure a defect-free manufacturing process wherever vacuum bagging is employed.
