Rex-Cut Products Inc. (Fall River, Mass.) has developed Sigma-Screen multipurpose flexible mesh abrasive wheels for grinding and light sanding of fiberglass tanks, vessels, hulls, and other composite structures. The depressed-center Type 27 abrasive wheels contain a blend of zirconia-ceramic abrasive grains bonded to a flexible mesh. They come in coarse, medium, fine and very-fine grades. They are said to be chatter-free and reportedly won’t clog. The company reports that the 4.5-inch/114.3-mm diameter wheels can be stacked on a grinder for longer life and also are effective for use on stainless steel, metals, aluminum and wood.
