Master Bond Inc. (Hackensack, N.J., U.S.A.) has developed EP72M3 adhesive, a two-component elastomer-modified epoxy designed to provide exceptional impact resistance and peel strength in general-purpose bonding for high-performance applications (achieves Shore A hardness of 78 and T-peel of >30). It may be cured at room temperature, and cure may be accelerated at elevated temperatures. Mix ratio is one-to-one (weight or volume). The hardened adhesive functions as an electrical insulator and resulting bonds are resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals, including water and petroleum products.
