BigHead Bonding Fasteners Ltd. (St. Louis, Mo.) has introduced Poppit fasteners which feature ball-and-socket construction that reportedly enables instant demounting. Designed for use in trim, panel, molding and signage applications, the product’s two-part assembly is glued in position, automatically ensuring exact alignment. Each fastener features a circular steel baseplate of perforated design, with a steel ball welded to the center. A separate, matching head, molded in polycarbonate, incorporates a socket with three jaws. The two parts click together, and the ball joint allows an optional swivel action. According to the company, only a firm pull is required to separate the joints.
