Distributor Technology Marketing Inc. (TMI, Salt Lake City, UT, US) offered at SAMPE 2015 several new products for composites fabricators. TMI now carries natural diamond-coated countersinks with microstops, for more accurate drilling of holes for flathead fasteners, says the company. The countersinks are available with or without flutes, last significantly longer than carbide tools and can be used without pilot holes. Also available are natural diamond router tools and cutoff wheels, manufactured by Diatrim Tools (Montreal, Canada). Also on display was TMI’s in-house Prestec line of polyester and vinyl ester mold sealer and primer materials. Designed for use on low-cost patterns or prototype molds, the materials, including a styrene blocker, high-build primer and hard surface primer, allow creation of a smooth mold surface for low-run or demonstrator parts.
