General Plastics Mfg. Co. (Tacoma, WA, US) will feature its FR-3800 FST composite core series. Also featured will be its FR-4700 high-temperature tooling board. The LAST-A-FOAM FR-3800 FST is the first halogen-free polyurethane foam that satisfies fire, smoke and toxicity (FST) requirements and Ohio State University (OSU) heat release standards. It withstands process temperatures up to 310°F/154°C. General Plastics says this material is a good alternative to PVC foam and honeycomb. It is available in custom sizes and thickness, in densities ranging from 3 to 40 lb/ft3. LAST-A-FOAM FR-4700 high-temperature tooling board is a high-density, rigid urethane tooling board that withstands peak temperatures up to 400°F/200°C, and continuous-use temperatures up to 350°F/177°C. It is dimensionally stable, non-abrasive and can be machined with standard high-speed steel cutting tools.
