Chem-Trend (Howell, MI, US) continues to update its Chemlease and Zyvax brands by developing water-based release systems that reportedly perform as well or better than customary solvent-based products. Reported advantages include increased throughput by minimizing mold fouling, improved part cosmetics and reduced part re-work. Chem-Trend’s water-based alternatives also afford application flexibility as they can be applied by wipe or with spray equipment onto ambient or hot tooling.
