Cool Clean Technologies LLC (CCT, Eagan, MN, US) will feature its CO₂ cooling and cleaning technologies for drilling composite stackups for aerospace applications. CO₂ cooling focuses a spray of solid crystals of CO₂, or dry ice, into the heat zone, optimizing heat transfer and the cooling effect, keeping the cutting edge sharper. The company says that increases in tool life and tighter hole tolerances are achieved using its ChilAire cooling system. CCT also uses CO₂ cleaning plus automation to clean efficiently and effectively, and has been applied increasingly in automotive applications. The precision cleaning spray of CO₂ particles removes light oils, dusts and in some cases fingerprints. The company will conduct live demonstrations in its booth.

In the conference, Nelson Sorbo, Ph.D., will present, “Benefits of CO2 Cooling as an Adjunct Cooling Technology for Drilling of Stackup Composite Structures” on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at 3:30 p.m.
