"Beyond Aerospace: The Business Case for Composites," is the title of a free webinar scheduled for Dec. 4, 1:00 to 2:00 pm EST, designed to help those new to composites and their application understand the fundamentals of this material and the basics of design and engineering.

Adding composites to the design and engineering toolbox requires some understanding of what they are and how they work. Those new to composites have likely heard by now about the mechanical properties composites offer — light weight, high strength, unbeatable durability. Applied properly, composites can improve everything from pipes to bridges to wind turbines and cars, but understanding how composites behave differently than traditional materials is critical to their success.

This webinar, hosted by Knovel and sponsored by Firehole Composites and CompositesWorld, features presentations by composites design and engineering specialists DeWayne Howell, president of Peak Composites Inc. (Arvada, Colo., USA), and Jason Gies, vice president of Firehole Composites (Laramie, Wyo., USA), as well as an introduction by Jeff Sloan, editor of High-Peformance Composites and Composites Technology magazines.
