The Society of the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE, Diamond Bar, Calif., U.S.) announced on Jan. 11 that Raj Manchanda has joined the SAMPE team as the new CTO.

Manchanda will be responsible for establishing and executing the technological vision for SAMPE North America, lead the Society’s technical resource development and oversee the execution of technical programming, which includes conference technical programming, seminars, publications and online technical content.

“As SAMPE competes amidst the evolving events and content delivery landscape, our investment in Raj and in a progressive technical portfolio affords us the best opportunity to increase member value and expand the Society’s technical relevancy,” says Timothy Shaughnessy, president of SAMPE North America.

According to Zane Clark, CEO of SAMPE, Manchanda’s hiring marks the culmination of a thorough search process that was facilitated by SAMPE’s Ad Hoc Technical Committee. “The committee, which consisted of industry professionals and longtime SAMPE volunteer leadership, should be commended for their time and expertise in finding a high-caliber leader that will identify the industry’s emerging technologies, while serving new and underserved advanced material industry vertical markets. SAMPE is making a demonstrated commitment to securing our position as the leading technical society for material and process engineering.”
