North American Composites expands U.S. operations

A new 41,000-sq-ft facility in Mishawaka, Ind., USA will provide composites distribution services to customers in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.

Mark Brost, vice president and general manager of North American Composites (NAC), a division of Interplastic Corp. (St. Paul, Minn., USA), announced on July 17 the purchase of a 41,000-ft2/3,809m2 facility in Mishawaka, Ind., USA. From this new location NAC will service customers across Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.

Improvements to the facility are underway and will include additional truck docks, a tanker unloading station, installation of a fiberglass mat slitter and temperature-controlled rooms for the storage of initiators, vinyl ester resins and gel coats. NAC will have the capability to fill drums and totes as well as clean returned totes. Improvements are expected to be completed by September when NAC will begin making shipments from this location.
