Composites Advantage LLC (Dayton, Ohio) announced on July 21 that the advanced materials company has acquired a new 22,000-sq-foot manufacturing facility in Dayton, Ohio. The building will allow the company to add new product lines in addition to its current lineup. It also will be able to mold larger fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite parts up to 52 feet/15.8m. The additional space permits pre-assembly of parts, a service that Composites Advantage says significantly improves the efficiency and success rate of field installations.

The aviation news website announced on July 28 that the CEO of Eclipse Aviation (Centennial, Colo.), Vern Raburn, has stepped down and will be replaced by Roel Pieper, the chairman of the board of directors and president of ETIRC, a European company that has invested more than $100 million in Eclipse earlier this year. The report says the statement came at the EAA AirVenture air show on July 28 morning. Eclipse is developing a composites-intensive very light jet (VLJ) and was forced to close its doors in late 2007 because of cash flow problems. The ETIRC investment allowed Eclipse restart operations. Information: AVweb report.
