HITCO Carbon Composites (Gardena, Calif., USA), a subsidiary of SGL Group − The Carbon Company (Wiesbaden, Germany) reported on June 20 that it has received a 2010 Boeing Performance Excellence Award (BPEA). Boeing issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who that achieved superior performance. HITCO Carbon Composites maintained a Silver composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period from Oct. 1, 2009 through Sept. 30, 2010.

“HITCO is honored to once again receive this prestigious award from The Boeing Company. We deeply appreciate the recognition which this award conveys as HITCO pursues its goal of becoming the world class Tier II supplier of composite components to the aerospace industry,” said Anthony Lawson, HITCO president. “Along with the support of our parent company, SGL Group – The Carbon Company, we continue to invest in capabilities, people, equipment and facilities to deliver the high quality composite components that Boeing expects to receive from its supplier base,” Lawson added.

HITCO Carbon Composites supplies several composite components in support of Boeing’s 747, 767, 787 and C-17 Globemaster Programs — in addition to working with Boeing Research & Technology on new programs. HITCO has been a supplier to Boeing for more than a half-century. This is the sixth consecutive performance award that HITCO has received from Boeing.
