Firestone Fibers & Textiles (FSFT, King’s Mountain, NC, US), a business unit of Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (Nashville, TN, US), has acquired a minority interest in an affiliate of Rapid Composites, LLC (Sarasota, FL, US), a provider of electro-mechanical design, engineering, rapid prototyping, CNC mold-making and advanced composite molding services.

Since 1999 Rapid Composites has been an industry leader with the skill, expertise and resources to take advanced composite projects from concept to production – entirely under one roof.

The collaboration between FSFT and Rapid Composites will provide significant synergies and exciting possibilities for both companies in the areas of future composites and advanced material sciences development.

Rapid Composites has participated in the annual Future Materials exhibit at the Intl. BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), curated by CompositesWorld and Professional BoatBuilder magazines.
