Composites UK (Herts, UK) has launched the nomination process for its 2015 Industry Awards, which celebrates the achievements of UK companies over the last year. The trade association for the UK composites industry says that nominations are welcome in the following categories:

  • Innovation in materials;
  • Innovation in manufacturing;
  • Innovation in composites design;
  • Health and safety award;
  • Environmental initiative/sustainability award;
  • Employer of the year;
  • Employee of the year; and
  • Trainee/apprentice of the year.

Deadline for nominations is May 29 and is open to both member and non-member companies. The judging panel will select a shortlist of finalists and the overall winner for each category will be announced at a dinner on Nov. 4, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on the NEC complex in Birmingham, UK. The dinner is combined with the Advanced Engineering Show that takes place Nov. 4-5 at the Birmingham NEC.

Claire Whysall, communications manager for Composites UK, said that the group received a record number of applications last year.

 “We’re hoping that this trend continues,” she said. “At past award events, we announced the winner beforehand, however, this year our judges will be shortlisting the top entries with the winner being announced at the dinner itself."

More than 100 seats for the 2015 event have already been sold. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Nomination forms, registration information and sponsorship details are available via the association website: www.compositesuk.co.uk
