Chomarat (Le Cheylard, France) reported on Feb. 11 that it is expanding its Tunisian plant in Grombalia and has announced an increase in its production capacity of multiaxial glass fiber reinforcements for the wind turbine market.

These investments come in response to a new contract to supply more than 10,000 tonnes of multiaxial glass fiber reinforcements to the wind turbine sector. In 2014 Chomarat made similar improvements to its Taicang plant (near Shanghai) in China. The Group is now able to supply its multiaxial reinforcements across continents - Europe, Asia and the Americas.

“Increasing our production capacity and expanding our facilities is just the first step. We are going to pursue our development by offering a competitive range designed for the wind turbine sector and all other high-volume markets such as the transportation and marine industries,” says Raphael Pleynet, head of Chomarat's Composites Europe business.
