It was reported on Oct. 6 that, in line with the strategy for further integration of its company structure, AVIC Cabin Systems (ACS; London, U.K.) is setting up a Global Sales Management team. The company contends that customers will benefit from the full group portfolio of products and services covering all areas of the cabin from a single source.

“As we continue on our path towards further integration within our group of companies, it is more important than ever to create a strong and unified commercial approach, leveraging synergies across our brands, and presenting an integrated offering for cabin solutions to our customers,” says Zhen Pang, CEO of ACS.

According to the company, the new sales team will be globally situated and will be well positioned to bring customers an integrated ACS offering. Each of the ACS sales team members will be promoting the full portfolio of ACS products and services and proactively identifying innovative opportunities to grow the business moving forward. A lean and agile structure will provide higher flexibility, cost efficiency and a one-stop-shop to the market in the future.

Phase one of the integration, says AVIC, will combine the current sales teams from Thompson Aero Seating and AIM Altitude under the leadership of Andy Morris, vice president (VP) Commercial AVIC Cabin Systems. Andy has been working as VP Sales for Thompson for more than seven years. The company adds that his proven skills, and experience in customer delivery, product innovation and commercial communications are seen as key drivers to lead the ACS sales team to achieve global success.

Further, the ACS sales team will service the market based not only on location but also specific customer requirements ensuring that the relevant expertise for the entire AIM and Thompson product and services portfolio is available to all customers. The existing sales teams in FACC, Fesher and Jiatai are not affected and remain in place.

In the face of the unprecedented, difficult and unsettling times due to the COVID-19 crisis, ACS remains fully committed to the continuous improvement of its performance in all areas. The integration plan continues to be the core strategy for the company going forward to maximize growth.
