Aonix Advanced Materials Corp. (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) signaled its expansion into Asia with the signing of a Letter of Intent to establish an Aonix high performance composites manufacturing solutions center and business development headquarters in Taiwan.

On September 30 2013, Jerome Le Corvec, Aonix Advanced Materials Corp. president and CEO, and Dr. Chia-Juch Chang, Minister of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, R.O.C. signed a Letter of Intent that acknowledges the importance of Aonix’ technology and services to the enhancement of Taiwan’s global competitiveness in high performance composites (HPC) development and manufacturing.

The Letter of Intent sets the stage for the launch of Aonix Advanced Materials Asia, the company’s ASEA headquarters and center for the development and delivery of Aonix’ industry-leading trademarked UltraMaterials high-volume HPC manufacturing system solutions to electronics and sporting goods OEMs, ODMs and OBMs in Taiwan and throughout ASEA. Engineers, designers, project management, and business development professionals will be in place in the fourth quarter of 2013 and Aonix Advanced Materials Asia will be fully operational by the third quarter of 2014.

Jerome Le Corvec, Aonix Advanced Materials Corp. president and CEO said that the company chose Taiwan for three reasons: “Taiwan-based manufacturers dominate many consumer electronics and sporting goods product categories, the country is at the center of what may be the world’s most comprehensive materials supply chain, and Taiwan has a world class record of delivering the innovations that global brands, ODMs and OEMs need to maintain and grow their markets. We are very excited to be setting up shop in Taiwan.”

Aonix Advanced Materials Asia will be located in Taichung City, in Central Taiwan. Taichung City, the 2013 Intelligent Community of the Year, is a major design and manufacturing center for the global electronics and sporting goods markets and an emerging hub of precision machinery and manufacturing automation expertise.

Aonix Advanced Materials supplies UltraMaterials—high performance thermoplastic composites with unequaled mechanical and resistive properties—and automated, application-optimized Express high-capacity molding machines to global customers in the electronics, sporting goods, automotive, aerospace and energy industries. Aonix manufacturing systems are fully integrated, “prepreg-to-parts” solutions that accelerate new product time-to-market with HPC parts and products that deliver industry-leading performance-to-price ratios.
