The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA, Arlington, Va.) is calling for entries in the 16th Annual Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE) Product Showcase and Competition, a competition honoring exceptional technology, process innovation and market potential for composites. All composites manufacturers committed to the advancement of composites may submit products for consideration in the ACE program. Entries will be displayed and awards will be presented at COMPOSITES+POLYCON '09 in Tampa, Fla., Jan. 15-17, 2009.

ACMA's ACE competition is sponsored by AOC (Collierville, Tenn.) and Composites One (Arlington Heights, Ill.) to recognize technology achievement and excellence in the following categories: Infinite Possibility; Process Innovation; Superior Quality in an Open Molded Part, and Most Creative Application. This year, Ashland (Columbus, Ohio) will sponsor and present two awards: Technical Innovation for Corrosion Applications and Innovation in Green Composites Technology -- a new award category.

"The new award for green composites will spotlight products that could change our daily lives and influence market segments to become more sustainable," says John Tickle, President of ACMA. "The composites industry has an opportunity to distinguish itself as a unique contributor to the 'green' movement."

Only manufacturers of finished composites products are eligible to enter the ACE competition. There is neither an entry fee nor a limit to the number of products that may be submitted by a single company. ACMA members and non-members may enter. Each applicant must submit an ACE entry form and color photograph of the product by Nov. 21, 2008.
