CAMX, ACE parts competition winners to be named today

One of the highlights of CAMX are the parts competitions, and there are two from which to choose. The CAMX Awards present winners in two categories: Combined Strength and Unsurpassed Innovation. The winners of the CAMX awards will be announced this morning during the CAMX Live! Opening General Session, at 8:30 a.m. in the Dallas Ballroom of the Omni Hotel. CAMX Awards nominees can be viewed on the exhibit hall floor behind the Innovation Park at the end of aisles U, V and W. The Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE) are presented in four categories: Most Creative Application, Equipment and Tooling Innovation, Material and Process Innovation and Infinite Possibility of Market Growth. These winners will be announced at 2 p.m. today at the ACE Pavilion on the exhibit floor at the ends of aisles E and F. Nominees this year include a thermoplastic automotive lift gate, an automation solution for hand layup, a carbon fiber/thermoplastic pressure bulkhead for an aircraft (see photo), a large-format additive manufacturing system, design simulation software, preforming with Z-axis reinforcement (see photo) and much more.
