General Plastics News

General Plastics Manufacturing Company is in the process of obtaining certification to SAE AS9100 standards. The Company expects to have its certification available before the end of 2006. SAE AS9100 is the quality system requirements for suppliers to the aerospace industry. The intent of the standard is to achieve significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost for aircraft/aerospace suppliers throughout the value stream or supply chain. Companies adhering to this standard are examined by third parties for compliance to its requirements. The quality system audit required for granting approval to AS9100 is conducted company-wide at all levels. Achieving this certification also grants ISO9000 certification to the company, a standard widely applied to manufacturers producing commercial-grade products.
