High-Performance Composites

The WMC2 Waterjet Machining Center from Flow International (Kent, Wash., U.S.A.) is the company's next-generation system, providing the flexibility that the company says will be required to tap into new markets. Reportedly ideal for high-production, high-speed cutting as well as the low production rates and high job variation found in job shops, the system is built for 'round-the-clock operation. Its flexible, modular design allows customers to equip the unit with any of a variety of Intensifier or Hyplex pumps and cutting heads, enabling customers to select the right pump and number of cutting heads for their applications today and upgrade later, when needs change. The system comes with a portable wheeled cabinet, the latest generation of either FlowMaster PC or Siemens CNC control and may include either the optional multihead Paser ECL Plus cutting system or the dual-head Dynamic Waterjet.
