WARDJet Inc. (Kent, Ohio) recently developed JOBSHOP GRATES, a waterjet grating and fixturing system that reportedly enables waterjet users to increase efficiency and reduce consumables cost. Made from thinner-than-typical steel plates in an interlocking, all-welded structure, the grates provide for minimal contact between the grate and the abrasive waterjet stream, thus reducing wear and almost eliminating water kickback into parts being cut. The 12.7-cm/5-inch deep units are modular and can be reversed to extend useful life.
