Axel Plastics Research Laboratories (Woodside, N.Y.) has introduced a new water-based, semi-permanent mold release called XTEND W-102, a 100% water-based high gloss mold release. The release reportedly is quick drying and easy to apply at ambient temperature and requires no heat cure. It is said to provide good slip and durability for polyester, vinyl ester, prepreg and epoxy resins. It is suitable for use in hand lamination, infusion and RTM processes.
